The Business Communications Series © Integrating continuous learning into performance
The Business series is suite of five, 4-hour high-impact, interactive workshops designed to engage participants in an exciting and active learning experience around effective business communications. These programs incorporate real-world case studies, examples, tools and techniques that enable participants to quickly transfer new knowledge into practice and improved performance.
Workshop I: Business Communication: Written, Spoken & Understood
How would you rate the effectiveness of communication in your organization? What do you estimate less than effective communication is costing your firm? From incomplete cocktail napkin instructions to overly-long formal correspondence, from poorly written emails to copying the wrong person. We all have conversations, negotiations and confrontations in our daily business lives.. This workshop shows how our communication process can be more effective. With real-life case studies mixed with a bit of humor, participants will learn new techniques and netiquette!
Workshop II: Gap Analysis? Focusing resources on the most important areas for improvement
Wikipedia defines gap analysis as a business resource tool that enables a company to compare its actual performance with its potential performance. At it's core are two questions: Where are we? Where do we want to be? In this workshop, participants (in group setting) will develop learn to use an assessment tool identifying and communicating gaps—an effective way to coalesce attention around a specific performance improvement target. The results will help them launch a mini-performance improvement initiative.
Workshop III: Delegation: The art of multiplying personal effectiveness
What could you accomplish if you had just an extra 30 minutes each day? Where do you find that time? Start by understanding what delegation means, identifying the barriers and recognizing the great upside. Participants will learn three ways to handle delegating and how to manage it to ensure success. It is more than just handing off a project – there’s a fine art to it.
Workshop IV: Successful Team Projects: Accelerating progress through teamwork
This workshop covers how the four stages of Teaming (forming, “norming”, storming and performing) enter into any team project. Do your teams demonstrate peak performance? How does a group of different personalities and styles coalesce their energies around a specific objective to achieve a successful outcome? Participants will learn the steps needed to prepare for a successful project, some basic project management skills and a personality profile toolkit.
Workshop V: Technical Writing Basics: Improving quality and consistency through effective documentation
Do you rely on written work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) or an employee handbook to communicate important information to employees or customers? How do you measure the effectiveness of your written word? This session covers the three phases of writing and evaluation of company documents for clarity, conciseness and cost-effectiveness. |
